The Clásica de Tenerife continues to make headlines in the media. This time it’s CAR magazine, which dedicates four pages to the 23rd edition of the event in its December issue.
The feature offers an extensive summary of the three-day rally, detailing the route, makes and models of classic cars, favorable weather, and other advantages that place the event at the top in Spain. The article highlights the international and mainland presence of several teams, including one from the magazine itself — the so-called “Team CAR.” Emilio Olivares, the magazine’s editor, and his friend Álvaro Toro drove a Volvo P1800 S, loaned by RACT president Miguel Hernández Calzadilla.
The article also includes a rich collection of photos of our classics — the true stars of the event every year.
In the “Letters to the Editor” section, the feature includes a curious anecdote from a team that traveled from our beloved island of La Palma. After their Triumph TR4 IRS suffered a major breakdown just days before the event, Jacob Alonso and his co-driver Alejandra Amaro switched to Plan B (you always need one): reviving a 1966 SEAT 600 D. Oil change, coolant check, inspection passed, and… off to the Clásica de Tenerife! Now that’s what we call solid team strategy.
